Mrs. Tognolini

Welcome to Team 18, 4th graders!  I have been teaching 4th grade here at Del Rey since 1990. Yes, that's right 1990.  You can do the math and figure out how many years that is! I have stayed here at Del Rey for so long because I love this community and I love the adults and kids I work with.

I grew up in the Bay Area and my husband and I have been married since 1990 and have lived in Castro Valley since 1994.  We have five sons, one daughter-in-law and a dog named Bella. I love to spend time with my family.  I enjoyed playing sports in high school and college, so I am a big sports fan.  I also enjoy teaching, reading, cooking, and going to Lake Tahoe.
Inspired by
each new day at school.  The possibility of each new day is that we can learn together, work together, and share ideas that make us all better thinkers, at home or in the classroom.  We will learn from our mistakes and keep trying.  We can do this!
Here are some of my favorite quotes from the great Michael Jordan about reaching your goals:

"Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen."

"If you quit once, it becomes a habit.  Don't quit."

" To learn to succeed, you must first learn to fail.  I've never been afraid to fail."

" If you do the work, you get rewarded.  There are no shortcuts in life."
