Welcome to Ms. Torrez's Teacher Page

Welcome to my page. I am Ms. Torrez. I’ve been teaching in San Lorenzo Unified since 2006. I’ve worked with over 1,000 students in that time and have taught many different subjects and grade levels at both elementary and middle school. I look forward to working with students this year! Welcome to our class!

Inspired by
If you can dream it, you can do it.” -Walt Disney

I hope to inspire students to think beyond elementary school and give them the foundation they need to be successful throughout their education. I had wonderful teachers who helped me see my potential and I believe all students have the potential for greatness!

College
I graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelors in Liberal Studies with a Focus on Language and Literacy. I then attended California State University, East Bay and received my Teaching Credential.

District Tools I Use

Attendance
I take attendance using Aeries. You can stay on top of attendance through the Aeries Family Portal or Aeries App

Report Cards
I use Aeries to generate report cards. Families can view report cards through the Aeries Family Portal.

CANVAS                         Students have access to any of our online activities such as Studies Weekly, TWIG Science, Bridges Math Apps as well as many District approved apps/websites that we use in class.

Other Tools I Use:
Along with the general curriculum, students in my class will gain a rich knowledge of the use of technology thanks to my participation in technology training all across the country. This is a very exciting responsibility and I have taken a lot of time to research websites and apps that are age appropriate and support our learning in the classroom.
